Azizul Haque Bhuiya was among the earliest and most influential figures in Birmingham's liberation movement. He helped mobilise the local Bangladeshi community before the war began, shaped the movement in its formative phase, and played a coordinating role that linked Birmingham's campaign to the wider network of Bangladesh Action Committees across the United Kingdom.
